This Hobart-based firewood supplier found that their operational efficiency was being limited by paper-based processes, a complex online ordering system and a generic website that didnโt quite fit how the business operates.
When suitable off-the-shelf software couldnโt be found, Getbusi worked with the owner to design and build FtoU Online, a custom digital workspace built with Ruby on Rails that handles ordering and delivery scheduling from end-to-end and matches the business operations exactly. This makes it clear to staff and customers how each order is progressing and automates repetitive daily processes like generating driver delivery notes.
Address verification is also built in to the online order form. This prevents any human error in the pipeline from order placement to unloading.
All delivery order details are centralised. Staff can quickly key in orders that come in via phone call, Gumtree, email or Facebook on the customersโ behalf. The system automatically links orders to returning customers based on their contact info. These automations make it that much easier to maintain ongoing customer relationships with driver notes, order histories and a mailing list.
With a comprehensive calendar view, all recent and upcoming delivery orders can be shown and nothing gets missed. The schedule for each dayโs deliveries is always clear and up-to-date. This allows staff to accurately plan logistics and schedule new orders without confusion or delay. Not only do these efficiencies lessen the burden on staff but ultimately create happy loyal customers.
