About Getbusi
Where we came from, and what we're about.
Getbusi’s been around since 2002, starting as a small business IT consultancy in Hobart. Back then it was slow internet, big monitors, and pentium processors. Then, for over a decade, we built web filtering software for schools and businesses. This gave us a lot of insight into how the web works, what people expect when getting things done online, and the importance of good customer support.
For the past 8 years or so we’re back to our roots. We bring decades of combined experience to helping businesses navigate the complexity of maintaining a thriving online presence in an increasingly digitised world.
Websites, apps and digital workspaces.
Values
Every project we take on is a bit different, but there are some values we always abide by:
- Approachability. Slick, high-concept designs are trendy. But first and foremost it needs to be crystal clear where to look, what to tap, and how to find stuff. Aesthetics matter to us, but we’re happy to sacrifice slickness for something that feels warm and approachable.
- Digestability. Everyone has so much information coming at them nowadays. It can be quite exhausting. We aim to make our own communication—and our clients’—as concise and clear as possible. Cutting the noise so the signal is received.
- Collaboration. We do our utmost to share all aspects of our work as we progress. This includes inviting clients into our project management spaces to follow along, even if we only need the client’s input some of the time.
- Iteration. It’s important to have a plan, but usually the best version of something comes once it’s tested by the real world. A unique advantage of software is that it can be updated and iterated on quickly. We always budget for iteration time on our projects.
- Support. All software has bugs so all our projects have a warranty. After we’ve delivered what’s on the proposal, we stay available for questions, help and bug fixing. We know our most loyal clients are the ones who are the best supported.
- Autonomy. We want loyal clients, not hostages. We like to conclude our projects with enough training and documentation to operate our solutions autonomously without being dependent on us.
