Authentication

The getbusi solution can utilise existing authentication infrastructures. The security systems currently supported by getbusi include Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory, Windows NT Domain and LDAP services. Users and groups containing within these security systems are available via the getbusi system. Web access policies from within the getbusi system can be applied to users or groups contained in these security systems.

Seamless authentication

The getbusi system can provide seamless authentication in Microsoft networks. Seamless authentication does not require the user to enter their username and password to gain access to the Internet.

Seamless authentication will only work if the user has logged onto domain/network prior to opening their web browser. Seamless authentication will only work for versions of Internet Explorer greater than 4.0.

Windows NT, 2000 and 2003

getbusi can utilise both user and group information from Windows Active Directory on Windows 2000 and 2003 plus a Windows NT Domain.

The getbusi solution provides seamless and basic authentication in Microsoft network environments. Seamless authentication is available where security is provided via Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory or a Windows NT Domain and an NTLM capable web

The getbusi solution can only authenticate against a single domain.

LDAP

getbusi can utilise both user and group information from almost all LDAP-based authentication systems. These include:

  • Posix based LDAP system such as OpenLDAP
  • Apple Mac OSX 10.x LDAP systems (Open Directory)
  • Novell LDAP based systems

getbusi's own directory service

getbusi provides it own directory service for those sites that do not have existing security infrustructure. This is provided free of charge and integrates seamlessly with getbusi's Web Access Management system.
